Bio efficacy of a bio stimulant product AMINOFERT-77 in Maize Crop

Maize (Zea mays L.) is one of the most widely cultivated row crops and exhibits broad adaptability across diverse agro-climatic conditions. Owing to its high genetic yield potential, maize is often referred to as the "Queen of Cereals." However, nutrient use efficiency (NUE) in maize is estimated to be only about 35%, indicating substantial scope for improvement through innovative crop management practices and input technologies. Bio stimulants from PBL such as AMINOFERT-77 have the potential to enhance crop growth, nutrient uptake, NUE, and overall productivity of maize fields. A field experiment was conducted during the Kharif season at Ambikapur (Chhattisgarh), Mandsaur (Madhya Pradesh), and Chhindwara (Madhya Pradesh) to evaluate the bio-efficacy of the AMINOFERT-77 in maize. The results revealed that the application of AMINOFERT-77 at crop growth stages significantly influenced crop performance. Treatments receiving AMINOFERT-77 recorded improved plant growth, higher biomass accumulation, and enhanced grain yield compared to the untreated control. Based on the trial findings, it can be concluded that the application of AMINOFERT-77 is effective in improving maize growth and productivity, thereby helping to realize the crop's genetic yield potential and contributing to better nutrient use efficiency. Introduction: Bio stimulants like Aminofert- 77 can significantly enhance the growth and productivity of crops, including maize, by improving their resilience to abiotic stresses. AMINOFERT-77 is an amino acid-based bio stimulant containing a high concentration of free amino acids, peptides, organic nitrogen, and other bioactive compounds. Amino acids play a vital role in plant metabolism as precursors for protein synthesis, enzyme activation, chlorophyll formation, and hormonal regulation. In maize, critical growth stages such as rapid vegetative growth, tasselling, and grain filling require substantial metabolic activity and nutrient demand. This study was undertaken to evaluate the bio-efficacy of AMINOFERT-77 on growth, yield attributes, and grain yield of maize under field conditions. Application of amino acid-based bio stimulants during these stages may enhance physiological efficiency, improve yield attributes, and increase grain productivity.
