Chlorpyriphos 20% EC

Category:

Description

It has contact, stomach, and fumigant action. It can control bollworm, stemborer, grubs, fruit borer, root borer, as well as termite. It also consumes a very large quantity in construction for protecting timber against termites.

Mode of action:

Chlorpyriphos affects the nervous system by inhibiting the breakdown of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter. When insects are exposed, chlorpyriphos binds to the active site of the cholinesterase (ChE) enzyme, which prevents breakdown of ACh in the synaptic cleft.
