Kitazine 48% EC acts as a broad-spectrum fungicide, offering protection against a wide range of fungal pathogens. Kitazin is a systemic organophosphate fungicide that is used to control blast and sheath blight in rice, early blight in tomato, early blight in potato, purple blotch in onion, fruit rot and dieback in chilies, and anthracnose in pomegranate and grapes.
Kitazine (Isoprothiolane) acts by inhibiting phosphatidylcholine biosynthesis in fungal cells, disrupting membrane formation and vital metabolic processes. This disrupts the growth and development of the fungus, leading to its death. Kitazine is a systemic fungicide, which means that it is absorbed by the leaves and roots of plants and transported throughout the plant, providing protection from fungal infection. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. This disruption weakens the integrity of the fungal cells, leading to cell leakage and subsequent fungal death.
