Imidacloprid 30.5% SC is a systemic insecticide that contains the active ingredient imidacloprid, as well as balanced auxiliaries and inert materials. It is a new generation systemic and contact insecticide that is highly effective for pre and post-construction termite control. It belongs to the neonicotinoid group. It has low toxicity to humans when used as directed.
Imidacloprid acts on the insect nervous system by binding to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs), causing continuous stimulation of nerve cells. This overstimulation results in paralysis and eventual death of the insect. The compound has systemic, contact, and stomach action, with translaminar movement throughout plant tissues.
