Description

Bacillus subtilis is a bio fungicide and Plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR), which colonizes on roots and protects the root system of the plant. It hinders spore germination in plant pathogens and prevents pathogens from attaching to the plant, outcompeting other soil microbes making it exceptional for soil borne fungal diseases and on leaves and fruit diseases.  It enhances the N2 fixation, solubilizes the soil phosphorus, produces siderophores having biocontrol potential (promote plant growth & suppress pathogen growth). Help plants to produce secondary metabolites, regulate intracellular phytohormone and increase plant stress tolerance. Provide healthy growth to the plant and root.

CFU count: 1 x 108 cfu/ml

Bacillus subtilis colonizes plant roots and aerial surfaces, forming a protective barrier against fungal pathogens. It produces antifungal compounds such as lipopeptides that disrupt fungal cell membranes, inhibiting spore germination and mycelial growth of pathogens including Fusarium, Rhizoctonia, Sclerotinia, Pythium, and Alternaria. It also activates the plant's natural defence mechanisms by inducing systemic resistance, helping plants withstand future infections. Additionally, it improves rhizosphere health, enhances nutrient uptake, and promotes stronger, healthier crop growth.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS)

What is Bacillus subtilis used for?

Bacillus subtilis is a biological fungicide used to protect crops from several fungal and bacterial diseases while promoting healthier plant growth.

How does Bacillus subtilis work? +

It colonizes the root and leaf surface, competes with harmful pathogens for space and nutrients, and produces natural antimicrobial compounds that suppress disease causing microorganisms.

Which diseases can be managed with Bacillus subtilis? +

It helps manage damping off, root rot, wilt, leaf spot, powdery mildew, blight, and other fungal and bacterial diseases, depending on the crop.

Can Bacillus subtilis improve plant growth? +

Yes. By reducing disease pressure and improving root zone health, it supports better root development, nutrient uptake, and overall plant vigor.

Why should farmers choose Bacillus subtilis? +

It provides preventive disease protection, supports Integrated Disease Management (IDM) programs, reduces dependence on chemical fungicides, is environmentally friendly, and promotes healthier crop growth.
