Dimethomorph 50% WP is a systemic fungicide highly effective against Oomycete fungi such as Phytophthora infestans (Late blight) and Peronospora spp. (Downy mildew). After application, it is absorbed by plant tissues and moves upward through the xylem to protect new growth. Its anti-sporulation properties prevent the spread of blight to nearby plants, offering both protective and curative action.
Dimethomorph inhibits the biosynthesis of sterols (ergosterol), a key component of fungal cell membranes. By disrupting the formation of the fungal cell wall, it weakens and kills the pathogen. This unique action not only stops existing infections but also prevents further spore germination and pathogen development.
