Indoxacarb 15.8% EC is an insecticide of the oxadiazine group that effectively controls caterpillars by its contact and stomach poison action. Indoxacarb controls all stages of caterpillars simultaneously. It is a systemic insecticide that works by disrupting the nervous system of insects. It is absorbed by the leaves of plants and translocated throughout the plant, providing protection against insects that feed on the leaves, stems, and roots. It is effective against a wide range of chewing and sucking insect pests, including caterpillars, beetles, and certain sucking pests like aphids.
Indoxacarb acts as a sodium channel blocker, disrupting the normal functioning of an insect’s nervous system. It blocks the sodium channels that are essential for nerve transmission, leading to paralysis and the eventual death of the insect. By targeting the insect’s nervous system, indoxacarb effectively controls a wide range of chewing and sucking insect pests.
