Cartap Hydrochloride is a nereistoxin analogue that primarily acts as a neurotoxin on insects. It interferes with the normal transmission of nerve impulses by blocking the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors at the neuromuscular junction. This leads to rapid paralysis of chewing and sucking pests, preventing them from feeding and eventually causing death. Cartap also has stomach and contact activity, allowing it to act systemically when ingested and through direct contact, making it highly effective across all life stages of target pests.
