Description

Mycorrhizae granules are eco-friendly biofertilizers containing VAM fungi that form a symbiotic association with plant roots. They enhance phosphorus and micronutrient uptake, improve root growth, and increase water and nutrient efficiency. By extending the root and hyphal network, they also support better soil health and reduce vulnerability to soil-borne pathogens.

Spore Count – 1200 IP/gm

Mycorrhizae fungi form a symbiotic association with plant roots, where fungal hyphae penetrate and surround root cells to create arbuscules and vesicles. These structures act as nutrient exchange points, enabling the fungi to absorb phosphorus, zinc, and other micronutrients from the soil and deliver them to the plant. In return, the fungi receive carbohydrates from the plant. The extended hyphal network significantly increases the root’s absorptive surface area, improving nutrient and water uptake even from distant soil zones. This interaction enhances root growth, strengthens plant stress tolerance, and improves soil structure and microbial activity for sustained soil fertility.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS)

What are Mycorrhizae granules used for?

Mycorrhizae granules are used to improve root development, nutrient absorption, and water uptake by forming a beneficial association with plant roots. They help plants absorb phosphorus and micronutrients more efficiently for healthier growth.

How do Mycorrhizae granules work in soil? +

Mycorrhizae granules release beneficial fungi into the soil that colonize plant roots and create a network of fungal hyphae. This network extends beyond the root zone, helping plants access nutrients and water from a larger soil area.

How do Mycorrhizae granules improve phosphorus uptake? +

Mycorrhizae fungi improve phosphorus uptake by absorbing phosphorus from soil zones that roots cannot easily reach. This makes phosphorus more available to the plant, supporting better root and shoot growth.

Do Mycorrhizae granules improve root development? +

Yes, Mycorrhizae granules help improve root development by increasing the effective nutrient-absorbing surface area of roots, leading to stronger and denser root systems.

Can Mycorrhizae granules improve water efficiency in crops? +

Yes, Mycorrhizae granules improve water efficiency by extending fungal hyphae into the soil, allowing plants to absorb water more effectively, especially under moisture-stress conditions.
