Description
Mode of action Deltamethrin 2.8% EC
When Deltamethrin comes into contact with an insect, it binds to the sodium channels on the surface of nerve cells, which are responsible for transmitting nerve impulses. By binding to these channels, Deltamethrin prevents the normal flow of sodium ions across the cell membrane, disrupting nerve impulses and causing paralysis in the insect. This paralysis eventually leads to the death of the insect. Deltamethrin has a relatively fast knockdown effect, meaning it can quickly immobilize and kill insects upon contact or ingestion. It is effective against a wide range of insect pests, including mosquitoes, flies, beetles, and mites, making it a valuable tool in pest management programmes.
