Description

Pyrithiobac-Sodium 10% EC is a selective post-emergence herbicide used primarily for the control of broadleaf weeds in cotton. It provides effective management of a wide spectrum of dicot weeds including Trianthema spp., Amaranthus spp., Chenopodium spp., Digera spp., and Celosia argentea. The product ensures effective weed suppression while remaining safe for cotton crops.

Pyrithiobac-sodium acts by inhibiting the Acetolactate Synthase (ALS) enzyme, which is essential for the biosynthesis of branched-chain amino acids (valine, leucine, and isoleucine) in plants. This inhibition leads to the cessation of cell division and growth in susceptible weed species.
As a result, treated weeds gradually stop growing, turn yellow, and eventually die.
