Propargite 57% EC is a contact acaricide formulated for the effective management of mite infestations in agricultural crops. Belonging to the sulfite ester group, it provides rapid suppression of active mite populations and residual protection on treated foliage. Its vapour activity can support coverage within dense crop canopies, helping manage mites in areas that may be difficult to reach through direct spray deposition.
Propargite is classified under IRAC Group 12C. It interferes with mitochondrial energy production in susceptible mites by inhibiting key processes involved in oxidative phosphorylation. This disrupts cellular respiration and energy generation, resulting in feeding cessation, reduced mobility, and eventual death of target mites.
